Note: Must not be used on transparent plastics (Plexiglas®, Makrolon® or PETG, for example).

How to apply
  • The surface must be completely clean and dry, free from dust and grease (max. 5% residual humidity).
  • Rubson SL 3000 Liquid Silicon requires no preparation, and can be applied directly with a brush, roller or spatula. Do not dilute.
  • Surface protection: When it is used as waterproof protection for sloping roofs, it is advisable to apply a coat at least 1.5mm thick when wet.
  • Joints in fibre cement roofs and assembly joints between felt pieces must be sealed beforehand using Rubson SL 3000 Liquid Silicon. After 10 to 12 hours, a second and final coat can be applied.
  • Waterproofing: To reach ETAG 005 European Technical Approval, it is necessary to apply 2 coats of the product and fit Rubson M 3000 reinforcing mesh between these two coats.
  • The first layer is applied to the surface in a coat 1 - 2mm thick when wet. The reinforcing mesh is fitted over the wet coat of Rubson SL 3000 Liquid Silicon, making sure no air pockets or creases are left in it and with an overlap of 10cm.
  • It is advisable to wait at least 24 hours before applying the second coat. The second coat must be 1 - 1.5mm thick.
Properties
  • Totally innocuous water-based product.
  • 100% waterproof even on flat roofs.
  • High filling ability.
  • High elasticity.
  • Resistant to ultraviolet rays.
  • Permeable to water vapour.
  • Flexible even at low temperatures.
Preparing the surface
  • The surface must be completely clean, free of dust and grease and dry (max. 5% residual humidity).
  • Remove moss, algae and lichen manually, along with loose parts of old waterproof coatings or of the surface itself.
  • The features of Rubson SL 3000 Liquid Silicon (high-consistency silicon base) make it possible to repair cracks with the product itself. Open up the cracks in a wedge shape, fill with Rubson SL 3000 Liquid Silicon and leave to dry for 24 hours.
  • Ensure slopes are sufficient to allow rainwater to drain away easily.
Surfaces
  • Mineral and wood surfaces must be cleaned manually. For new concrete and slightly dusty surfaces, treatment with FF2000 Primer/Rubson SilicoTec Primer is recommended.(coverage 100-200g/m2).
  • Consult the technical datasheet.
